JULY 29, 2007:
- A day at the park with Flyerbug and his 450 SE V2.
- Just getting it set up, lots of hovering and wagging.
- The rod was binding, we fixed that and it seemed to help, but it still wagged.
- There was about 3/4" of fracking, maybe that was causing it..?
We changed delay/gain, those didn't change much.
RADIO SHACK FLASHTRON UPGRADE:
Brushed motor to a 1700kV helicopter brushless motor.
1500mAh 7.2V NiCD to 2200mAh 11.1V 25C Rhino Lipo.
Front servo to 8g Esky.
Stock Radio Shack RX/TX to AR6100/DX7
The dark canopy is hard to see, and it'll make you lose orientation and crash.
I had some evergreen trees in the background, and it blended in so I corrected the wrong way when the wind tipped it over, and dug it in pretty hard.
Minimal damage. $39.
Tried some 3D flying on the weekend, all went well. Did a couple pumps of tic tocs which death spiraled to a move called the upright lawn mower, skimming the grass with the skids.
Thanks to A.L. for the awesome camera-work!

Thanks goes out to MC!!
Finally got a chance to test out the 2221-6V2 in my CopterX.
Using a modified Align 35X ESC, 13T pinion, and a 100% throttle, it drained my EVO25 within 2-3 minutes of high headpseed. TP-601C put back in 2017mAH. That's a draw average of about 40A. Crazy motor!
The ESC was only slightly warm, motor was warm, and battery was fairly hot, I don't blame it.
We decided to have a race straight up. From left to right we have flyerbug, David and Ramone. We're sporting the 430XL, Scorpion 2221-6v2 and Medusa 28x32mm 3400kv. Batteries are all different. Not sure who wins from this angle, so we'll leave it up to the viewers to give their opinion! Enjoy the race!
Cloudy and hard to see, not the best day for orientation!
Flying the 2221-6V2 and 2250mAh 25C Zippy-K pack from www.hobbycity.com
Thanks to flyerbug for video taping!
